Mutaf began his career with [Fenerbahçe Istanbul](/source/Fenerbah%C3%A7e_Men's_Basketball) in the 2006–07 season. It was around this time that he became the second-youngest player in Euroleague history to start there, behind only [Aleksandar Ugrinoski](/source/Aleksandar_Ugrinoski) in terms of age. He spent the 2009–10 season on [loan](/source/loan_(sports)) with FMV Isiskspor Istanbul in the [Turkish 2nd Division](/source/Turkish_Basketball_First_League).
