The club was established in 1893 and played in the Cornwall Senior League until joining the [South Western League](/source/South_Western_Football_League) in 1955.<ref name=H>[http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/camelfordfootballclub/news/history-of-camelford-football-club-1317617.html Club History] Camelford F.C.</ref><ref name=FCHD>{{fchd|id=CAMELFOR|name=Camelford}}</ref> However, after finishing bottom of the table in 1961–62 and 1962–63 they dropped into the [East Cornwall Premier League](/source/East_Cornwall_League), taking the place of their reserve team.<ref name=H/>

In 2007 the club were founder members of the [South West Peninsula League](/source/South_West_Peninsula_League), joining Division One West.<ref name=FCHD/> After winning the division in [2010–11](/source/2010%E2%80%9311_South_West_Peninsula_League) they were promoted to the Premier Division.<ref name=FCHD/> Following league reorganisation at the end of the [2018–19 season](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_South_West_Peninsula_League), the club were placed in the Premier Division West.
