**Calvin Li** or **Li Zonghan** (Chinese: 李宗翰; pinyin: *Lǐ Zōnghàn*; born 7 November 1976) is a [Chinese](/source/Chinese_people) actor of [Manchu](/source/Manchu_people) ethnicity.[1][2][3] Li is noted for his roles as [Wu Yong](/source/Wu_Yong) and Yang Zhenjiang in the television series and film *[All Men Are Brothers](/source/All_Men_Are_Brothers_(TV_series))* and *Hushed Roar* respectively.

## Life

### Early life

Li was born and raised in [Wuhan](/source/Wuhan), [Hubei](/source/Hubei), his mother is a [Beijing Opera](/source/Beijing_Opera) actress. Li graduated from [Central Academy of Drama](/source/Central_Academy_of_Drama), majoring in acting. He is also a trained dancer. He is a member of the Manchu's [Aisin Gioro](/source/Aisin_Gioro) clan.

### Acting career

Li began his career as an advertising model after graduation.

Li made his acting debut in the [historical](/source/History_of_China) television series *Zhuge Liang*, playing [Zhuge Zhan](/source/Zhuge_Zhan), the son of [Zhuge Liang](/source/Zhuge_Liang).

In 2010, Li played the character Wisdom and Monk Jian Hui in [John Woo](/source/John_Woo)'s *[Reign of Assassins](/source/Reign_of_Assassins)*, a [wuxia](/source/Wuxia) film starring [Michelle Yeoh](/source/Michelle_Yeoh), [Jung Woo-sung](/source/Jung_Woo-sung), [Wang Xueqi](/source/Wang_Xueqi), [Barbie Shu](/source/Barbie_Shu), [Shawn Yue](/source/Shawn_Yue), and [Kelly Lin](/source/Kelly_Lin).[4][5] That same year, he also participated in [Alan Mak](/source/Alan_Mak_(director)) and [Felix Chong](/source/Felix_Chong)'s *[The Lost Bladesman](/source/The_Lost_Bladesman)* as [Qin Qi](/source/List_of_fictional_people_of_the_Three_Kingdoms), a subordinate of [Cao Cao](/source/Cao_Cao)'s general [Xiahou Dun](/source/Xiahou_Dun).

In 2011, Li co-starred with [Huo Siyan](/source/Huo_Siyan) and [Charlie Young](/source/Charlie_Young_(actress)) in the [suspense film](/source/Suspense_film) *Sleepwalker* as Eric, he received positive reviews. At the same year, Li starred as [Wu Yong](/source/Wu_Yong) in the historical television series *[All Men Are Brothers](/source/All_Men_Are_Brothers_(TV_series))*, adapted from [Shi Nai'an](/source/Shi_Nai'an)'s classical novel *[Water Margin](/source/Water_Margin)*, the series was one of the most watched ones in mainland China in that year.

In 2012, Li was nomination for the Newly Improved Actor Award at the [Chinese American Film Festival](/source/Chinese_American_Film_Festival) for his performance as Yang Zhenjiang in *Hushed Roar*.
