# Calvin Hultman

**Calvin Oscar Hultman** (May 24, 1941 – October 19, 2017) was an American politician in the state of [Iowa](/source/Iowa).

Hultman was born in [Omaha, Nebraska](/source/Omaha,_Nebraska) and attended [Iowa State University](/source/Iowa_State_University) and [Dana College](/source/Dana_College). He lived in [Stanton, Iowa](/source/Stanton,_Iowa) (1941–1971), [Red Oak, Iowa](/source/Red_Oak,_Iowa) (1971–1991), [Des Moines, Iowa](/source/Des_Moines,_Iowa) (1991–2014) and [McKinney, Texas](/source/McKinney,_Texas) until the time of his death.[citation needed] He spent his summers in [Moose, Wyoming](/source/Moose,_Wyoming) and later had a summer home in [Dubois, Wyoming](/source/Dubois,_Wyoming). Hultman was in the retail and lumber business, as well as realty, and became a lobbyist after he retired from the state Senate. Hultman served in the [Iowa Senate](/source/Iowa_Senate) from 1973 to 1991, as a [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)).[1] He died of cancer in [McKinney, Texas](/source/McKinney,_Texas) in 2017.[2][3]
