# Calostoma fuscum

***Calostoma fuscum*** is a species of [gasteroid fungus](/source/Gasteroid_fungi) in the family [Sclerodermataceae](/source/Sclerodermataceae). Found in Australia, where it grows mainly in *[Eucalyptus](/source/Eucalyptus)* forests, it was originally [described](/source/Species_description) by [Miles Joseph Berkeley](/source/Miles_Joseph_Berkeley) in 1839 as *Mitremyces fuscus*.[1] [George Edward Massee](/source/George_Edward_Massee) transferred it to the genus *[Calostoma](/source/Calostoma)* in 1888.
