==Description==
Some of the species of the genus ''Callipara'' have a [radula](/source/radula) with vestigial lateral teeth. [Teleoconch](/source/Teleoconch) [whorl](/source/Whorl_(mollusc))s are shouldered and nodulose, with the three early whorls axially ribbed. They often have with a black blotch near the [siphonal canal](/source/siphonal_canal) and the upper part of the [aperture](/source/Aperture_(mollusc)). All species have a shoulder, except in ''Callipara bullatian''a where the well-defined shoulder changes at a slight angle.<ref name="WoRMS" />

The thin shell is oblong-ovate. The [spire](/source/Spire_(mollusc)) is short and obtuse, with the [apex](/source/Apex_(mollusc)) papillary. The [body whorl](/source/body_whorl) is large and ventricose. The [columella](/source/Columella_(gastropod)) shows two distinct folds in front. The outer [lip](/source/Lip_(gastropod)) extends up towards the spire posteriorly.<ref>[https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/3782650 Adams, H. & Adams, A. (1853-1858). ==Distribution==
The snails of this genus are found in the Indian Ocean off [East Africa](/source/East_Africa).
