==Early life==
Timu was born in [Auckland](/source/Auckland), New Zealand, but his family migrated to Australia when he was five-years-old. ==Career==
===Rugby league===
Timu began his rugby league career with the Goodna Eagles in the Ipswich competition. He started his professional career playing [rugby league](/source/rugby_league) with the [Brisbane Broncos](/source/Brisbane_Broncos) in the [Australia](/source/Australia)n [National Rugby League](/source/National_Rugby_League). He was a {{rlp|sr}} in the Broncos Under-20s team in the [2012](/source/2012_NRL_Under-20s_season) and [2013 Holden Cups](/source/2013_NRL_Under-20s_season). He was named in the 2012 Holden Cup team of the year and represented the [Queensland under-20s side](/source/Queensland_under-20_rugby_league_team) in 2012 and 2013.
