'''Calcethorpe''' is a [hamlet](/source/hamlet_(place)) and [deserted medieval village](/source/deserted_medieval_village) (DMV), in the [civil parish](/source/civil_parish) of [Calcethorpe with Kelstern](/source/Calcethorpe_with_Kelstern), in the [East Lindsey](/source/East_Lindsey) [district](/source/Non-metropolitan_district) of [Lincolnshire](/source/Lincolnshire), England. It is situated approximately {{convert|5|mi|km|0}} west from the [market town](/source/market_town) of [Louth](/source/Louth%2C_Lincolnshire), and in the [Lincolnshire Wolds](/source/Lincolnshire_Wolds), an [Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty](/source/Area_of_Outstanding_Natural_Beauty). In 1971 the parish had a population of 27.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://visionofbritain.org.uk/unit/10406043/cube/TOT_POP|title=Population statistics Calcethorpe AP/CP through time|publisher=[A Vision of Britain through Time](/source/A_Vision_of_Britain_through_Time)|accessdate=31 May 2024}}</ref> On 1 April 1987 the parish was abolished and merged with [Kelstern](/source/Kelstern) to form "Calcethorpe with Kelstern".<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/louth.html|title=Louth Registration District|publisher=UKBMD|accessdate=31 May 2024}}</ref>

Calcethorpe is recorded in the 1086 ''[Domesday Book](/source/Domesday_Book)'' as having two households and six acres of meadow.<ref>{{cite web|title=Calcethorpe|url=http://www.domesdaymap.co.uk/place/TF2488/calcethorpe/|work=Domesdaymap.co.uk|publisher=Anna Powell-Smith/University of Hull|accessdate=26 June 2011|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120313084807/http://www.domesdaymap.co.uk/place/TF2488/calcethorpe/|archive-date=13 March 2012|url-status=dead}}</ref>

The church was dedicated to [Saint Faith](/source/Saint_Faith) but had fallen into ruin and disappeared by about 1450, around the same time as the rest of the village was abandoned. The [earthworks](/source/Earthworks_(archaeology)) near Manor Farm are known locally as 'Priests Close' and are the probable site of the church.<ref>{{cite web|title=St Faith's church, Calcethorpe|url=http://www.lincstothepast.com/St-Faith-s-church--Calcethorpe/227048.record?pt=S|work=Lincs to the Past|accessdate=26 June 2011}}</ref><ref>{{PastScape|mname=Calcethorpe|mnumber=353068|accessdate=26 June 2011}}</ref><ref>{{NHLE|num=1005012|desc=Deserted village (site of) N of Calcethorpe Manor Farm|accessdate=5 July 2017}}</ref>
