# Cahuish

**Cahuish**[1][2] (possibly from [Quechua](/source/Quechua_language) *qawi* put into the sun)[3] is a mountain in the [Cordillera Blanca](/source/Cordillera_Blanca) in the [Andes](/source/Andes) of [Peru](/source/Peru), about 4,900 metres (16,076 ft) high.[2] It is situated in the [Ancash Region](/source/Ancash_Region), [Huari Province](/source/Huari_Province), [Chavin de Huantar District](/source/Chavin_de_Huantar_District), and in the [Recuay Province](/source/Recuay_Province), [Ticapampa District](/source/Ticapampa_District). Cahuish lies southwest of the mountain and the archaeological site of [Waraqayuq](/source/Waraqayuq)[4] and southeast of [Yanamarey](/source/Yanamarey).[1][2]
