'''Caddonfoot''' ({{langx|gd|Bun Chadain}}) is a village on the [River Tweed](/source/River_Tweed), in the [Scottish Borders](/source/Scottish_Borders) area of [Scotland](/source/Scotland), on the A707, near [Galashiels](/source/Galashiels).

The village is at the mouth of the [Caddon Water](/source/Caddon_Water)

The church was erected in 1861 and became the parochial church of the new parish of Caddonfoot in 1870. The church was enlarged in 1875 and in the same year that the village school was rebuilt.<ref name=groome>Ordnance Gazetteer, by Francis Groome, publ.1896, article on Caddonfoot</ref> The school closed in 2012 as a new building was opened in [Clovenfords](/source/Clovenfords).

Prior to 1898 Caddonfoot lay within the civil parish of [Stow](/source/Stow%2C_Scottish_Borders), on its border with [Galashiels](/source/Galashiels). Stow parish was mainly in [Midlothian](/source/Midlothian) (Edinburghshire) but the southern portion, mainly the valley of [Caddon Water](/source/Caddon_Water) was in Selkirkshire.<ref name=groome/> Then in December 1898 a new [civil parish](/source/Civil_parishes_in_Scotland) of Caddonfoot was erected consisting of the portion of the civil parish of Stow within Selkirkshire, and the portions of the civil parishes of [Selkirk](/source/Selkirk%2C_Scottish_Borders), Galashiels, and [Yarrow](/source/Yarrow%2C_Scottish_Borders),  situated within the ecclesiastical parish of Caddonfoot.<ref>The Edinburgh Gazette, September 28, 1897, p.922</ref> The civil parish includes [Clovenfords](/source/Clovenfords) and [Caddonlee](/source/Caddonlee) and the Clovenfords and District Community Council serves roughly the same area.<ref>Ordnance Survey One-inch Popular edition, Sheet 80 - Peebles & Galashiels, publ. 1945</ref><ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.scotborders.gov.uk/directory_record/7690/clovenfords_and_district|title=Clovenfords and District|first=Scottish Borders|last=Council|website=www.scotborders.gov.uk}}</ref>
