## History

Until 1995 the club was owned by [Jesús Gil](/source/Jes%C3%BAs_Gil), a controversial businessman and also [mayor](/source/Mayor) of [Marbella](/source/Marbella), as well as the chairman of [Atlético Madrid](/source/Atl%C3%A9tico_Madrid). Subsequently, he sold it to Slobodan "Boban" Petrović, an entrepreneur from [Serbia](/source/Serbia).[1]

Finally, in 1997, CA Marbella disappeared, due to the many debts contracted in previous seasons.[2]
