'''Adenylyl cyclase-associated protein 2''' is an [enzyme](/source/enzyme) that in humans is encoded by the ''CAP2'' [gene](/source/gene).<ref name="pmid7962207">{{cite journal | vauthors = Yu G, Swiston J, Young D | title = Comparison of human CAP and CAP2, homologs of the yeast adenylyl cyclase-associated proteins | journal = Journal of Cell Science | volume = 107 | issue = 6 | pages = 1671–8 | date = Jun 1994 | doi = 10.1242/jcs.107.6.1671 | pmid = 7962207 }}</ref><ref name="pmid8761950">{{cite journal | vauthors = Hubberstey A, Yu G, Loewith R, Lakusta C, Young D | title = Mammalian CAP interacts with CAP, CAP2, and actin | journal = Journal of Cellular Biochemistry | volume = 61 | issue = 3 | pages = 459–66 | date = Jun 1996 | pmid = 8761950 | doi = 10.1002/(SICI)1097-4644(19960601)61:3<459::AID-JCB13>3.0.CO;2-E | s2cid = 46076387 }}</ref><ref name="entrez">{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: CAP2 CAP, adenylate cyclase-associated protein, 2 (yeast)| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=10486}}</ref>

== Function ==

This gene was identified by its similarity to the gene for human adenylyl cyclase-associated protein. The function of the protein encoded by this gene is unknown. However, the protein appears to be able to interact with adenylyl cyclase-associated protein and actin.<ref name="entrez" />

== Interactions ==

CAP2 has been shown to [interact](/source/Protein-protein_interaction) with [CAP1](/source/CAP1).<ref name="pmid8761950" />
