'''Adenylyl cyclase-associated protein 1''' is an [enzyme](/source/enzyme) that in humans is encoded by the ''CAP1'' [gene](/source/gene).<ref name="pmid1406678">{{cite journal | vauthors = Matviw H, Yu G, Young D | title = Identification of a human cDNA encoding a protein that is structurally and functionally related to the yeast adenylyl cyclase-associated CAP proteins | journal = Mol Cell Biol | volume = 12 | issue = 11 | pages = 5033–40 |date=Nov 1992 | pmid = 1406678 | pmc = 360436 | doi =  10.1128/mcb.12.11.5033}}</ref><ref name="pmid8761950">{{cite journal | vauthors = Hubberstey A, Yu G, Loewith R, Lakusta C, Young D | title = Mammalian CAP interacts with CAP, CAP2, and actin | journal = J Cell Biochem | volume = 61 | issue = 3 | pages = 459–66 |date=Apr 1997 | pmid = 8761950 | doi =10.1002/(SICI)1097-4644(19960601)61:3<459::AID-JCB13>3.0.CO;2-E  | s2cid = 46076387 }}</ref><ref name="entrez">{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: CAP1 CAP, adenylate cyclase-associated protein 1 (yeast)| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=10487}}</ref>

The protein encoded by this gene is related to the ''[Saccharomyces cerevisiae](/source/Saccharomyces_cerevisiae)'' CAP protein, which is involved in the [cyclic AMP](/source/cyclic_AMP) pathway. The human protein is able to interact with other molecules of the same protein, as well as with CAP2 and [actin](/source/actin).<ref name="entrez" />
