**C. Travis Johnson** is an American politician serving as a member of the [Louisiana House of Representatives](/source/Louisiana_House_of_Representatives) from the 21st district. Elected on November 16, 2019, he assumed office on January 13, 2020.

## Early life and education

Johnson is a native of [Ferriday, Louisiana](/source/Ferriday%2C_Louisiana). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and political science from [Louisiana Tech University](/source/Louisiana_Tech_University) and a Master of Arts in public administration from [Belhaven University](/source/Belhaven_University).[1][2]

## Career

Johnson served as the regional political director for Senator [Mary Landrieu](/source/Mary_Landrieu).[3] In September 2020, Johnson became the vice chair of the Louisiana's Democratic State Central Committee. He also owns a restaurant in [Vidalia, Louisiana](/source/Vidalia%2C_Louisiana).[4] Johnson was elected to the [Louisiana House of Representatives](/source/Louisiana_House_of_Representatives) on November 16, 2019, and assumed office on January 13, 2020.[5]

In December 2024, Johnson was selected for the Future Caucus Innovation Fellowship as part of the 2025-2026 Energy and Environment cohort, joining a bipartisan coalition of legislators concerned with climate change, energy policy, and the environment.[6][7]
