**Chris Rodriguez** better known by **C-Rod**, is an American songwriter, record producer, music arranger, mixer, engineer, and remixer. He wrote and produced [Paulina Rubio](/source/Paulina_Rubio)'s Billboard charting singles, *[Lo Haré Por Ti](/source/Lo_Har%C3%A9_Por_Ti)*, *[El Último Adiós](/source/El_%C3%9Altimo_Adi%C3%B3s)*, and *[Algo Tienes](/source/Algo_tienes)*[1][2] as well as producing singles for [Celia Cruz](/source/Celia_Cruz), [Thalía](/source/Thal%C3%ADa), [Ana Cristina](/source/Ana_Cristina_Cash), [Chayanne](/source/Chayanne), [Danna Paola](/source/Danna_Paola), and [Erika Jayne](/source/Erika_Jayne), among others.[3]

He wrote [Michael Murphy](/source/Michael_Murphy_(singer))'s #1 charting single *[So Damn Beautiful](/source/So_Damn_Beautiful_(Michael_Murphy_song))*, as well as others.[4][5]

As a recording artist C-Rod's single, *Beat Don't Stop*, charted at #3 and *Stay* at #8 on Billboard's Dance charts,[6] among others.

## Early life

Chris Rodriguez was born in [Miami, Florida](/source/Miami,_Florida). He began playing piano as a teenager. At 18 years old, he began recording songs on his four-track recorder in a small room in his father's warehouse. He graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor's degree in musical theater.[11][12][13]

C-Rod rose to prominence in the early 2000s producing Latin singer, [Paulina Rubio](/source/Paulina_Rubio)'s, #1 [*Billboard*](/source/Billboard_(magazine)) single, *[Algo Tienes](/source/Algo_tienes)*, and #7 single, *[Lo Haré Por Ti](/source/Lo_Har%C3%A9_Por_Ti)*, and numerous others.[14][15][2]

As a recording artist C-Rod's singles, *Beat Don't Stop* (featuring Jason Walker) charted at #3, *Stay* (featuring Brendan O'Hara) at #8, and *Raise Your Hands* (featuring Jason Walker) at #17 on Billboard's Dance charts,[6] among others.

Rodriguez launched his independent record label, developing new artists and doing remixes for artists Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Ricky Martin. He is a signed writer and producer with Sony/ATV Publishing.[13] In 2018, [One Horizon Group](/source/One_Horizon_Group), Inc. acquired C-Rod, Inc., along with its record label, Velveteen Entertainment and media content division.[17] Rodriguez is now the owner of Mues Media Studio in Miami.[18]

Rodriguez wrote the *¡Vivan los niños!*, the closing song for TV show, [¡Vivan los niños!](/source/%C2%A1Vivan_los_ni%C3%B1os!) recorded by [Ana Cristina](/source/Ana_Cristina_Cash). His song, *Perfect Picture* appeared in the film, [Easy A](/source/Easy_A), starring [Emma Stone](/source/Emma_Stone).
