**Byla** is an American [ambient](/source/Ambient_music) duo, formed in [Brooklyn, NY](/source/Brooklyn%2C_NY) in 2003 by [Colin Marston](/source/Colin_Marston) ([Behold... The Arctopus](/source/Behold..._The_Arctopus), [Dysrhythmia](/source/Dysrhythmia_(band)), et al.) and [Kevin Hufnagel](/source/Kevin_Hufnagel) (Dysrhythmia). They released their eponymous debut album in 2005.

Byla creates predominantly [instrumental](/source/Instrumental) music, although in 2007, they released an album as a collaboration with diverse vocalist [Jarboe](/source/Jarboe) ([Swans](/source/Swans_(band))). They also recorded an instrumental [remix](/source/Remix) track—over 18 minutes in length—based on source material composed by [isolationist](/source/Isolationism_(music)) musician [Fear Falls Burning](/source/Fear_Falls_Burning), which was released on a 5-disc [LP album](/source/LP_album) along with other remixes by artists such as [Bass Communion](/source/Bass_Communion) and [Final](/source/Final_(band)).
