# Bush blackcap

The **bush blackcap** (***Sylvia nigricapillus***) is a species of [bird](/source/Bird) in the family [Sylviidae](/source/Sylviidae). It is endemic to [South Africa](/source/South_Africa) and [Eswatini](/source/Eswatini). Its natural [habitats](/source/Habitat) are subtropical or tropical moist [montane forests](/source/Montane_forest) and subtropical or tropical high-altitude [shrubland](/source/Shrubland). It is threatened by [habitat loss](/source/Habitat_loss).[2]
