**Bundelkhand University** is a [state university](/source/State_university_(India)) located in [Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh](/source/Jhansi%2C_Uttar_Pradesh), India. It was established in 1975 by a notification under the provision of the U.P. Universities Act.[1]

## Administration

The [Chancellor](/source/Chancellor_(education)) of the University is the [Governor of Uttar Pradesh](/source/Governor_of_Uttar_Pradesh) who serves as the ceremonial head of the institution. The [Vice-Chancellor](/source/Vice-chancellor), currently Mukesh Pandey, is the chief executive and academic officer responsible for the administration and overall functioning of the university.[2][3]

The university’s governance structure includes several statutory bodies including the Court, Executive Council, Academic Council and Finance Committee.
