This site is ecologically diverse boulder clay woodland, with a range of wildflowers, including [oxlip](/source/oxlip)s and the uncommon [green hellebore](/source/green_hellebore). There are butterflies such as [brimstones](/source/Gonepteryx_rhamni), [large whites](/source/Pieris_brassicae), [orange-tips](/source/Anthocharis_cardamines) and [speckled woods](/source/Pararge_aegeria).<ref name=WTBCN/>

A permit from the Wildlife Trust is required for access.
