# Bud Estes

**Bud Estes** (October 4, 1946[2] – February 13, 2021) was an American politician. He was a [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)) member of the [Kansas Senate](/source/Kansas_Senate) for the [38th district](/source/Kansas's_38th_Senate_district), from 2017 until his death, and previously served as the 119th district [state representative](/source/Kansas_House_of_Representatives).[3][4] Estes also served as the [mayor](/source/Mayor) of [Bucklin, Kansas](/source/Bucklin,_Kansas), for fourteen years.

Estes died in February 2021, after being hospitalized due to a prolonged illness.[5]
