**Buckbrush** is the common name for several species of [North American](/source/North_America) shrubs that [deer](/source/Deer) feed on, including but probably not limited to:

- *[Cephalanthus occidentalis](/source/Cephalanthus_occidentalis)*
- *[Phyllanthopsis phyllanthoides](/source/Phyllanthopsis_phyllanthoides)*, maidenbrush (south-central U.S.)
- Some western North American species of the genus *[Ceanothus](/source/Ceanothus)*, especially: - *[Ceanothus cuneatus](/source/Ceanothus_cuneatus)*
- *[Purshia tridentata](/source/Purshia_tridentata)* and *[P. stansburiana](/source/Purshia_stansburiana)* (dry regions of western North America)
- *[Symphoricarpos orbiculatus](/source/Symphoricarpos_orbiculatus)*, native to the eastern United States and Canada
