# Bryson Washington

**Bryson Washington** is an American [college football](/source/College_football) [running back](/source/Running_back) for the [Auburn Tigers](/source/Auburn_Tigers_football). He previously played for the [Baylor Bears](/source/Baylor_Bears_football).

## Early life

Washington was born in [Dallas, Texas](/source/Dallas) and moved to [Franklin, Texas](/source/Franklin,_Texas) when he was in middle school.[1][2] Washington attended [Franklin High School](/source/Franklin_High_School_(Franklin,_Texas)) where as a senior, he rushed for over 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns as he finished as a semifinalist for the Mr. Texas Football award.[3] Coming out of high school, Washington was rated as a three-star [recruit](/source/College_recruiting) and held offers from schools such as Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Houston, Indiana, Iowa State, TCU, Texas Tech, and SMU.[4] In December 2022, he committed to play [college football](/source/College_football) for the [SMU Mustangs](/source/SMU_Mustangs_football).[5] However a week later, Washington flipped his commitment to play for the [Baylor Bears](/source/Baylor_Bears_football).[4]

## College career

As a freshman at Baylor in 2023, Washington ran ten times for 45 yards and made a catch for a yard.[6] In week 8 of the 2024 season, he notched 116 yards and two touchdowns in a win over [Texas Tech](/source/2024_Texas_Tech_Red_Raiders_football_team), earning [Big 12 Conference](/source/Big_12_Conference) Newcomer of the Week honors.[7] In week 10, Washington ran for 196 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries in a win over [TCU](/source/2024_TCU_Horned_Frogs_football_team).[8] For his performance, he was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose player of the week.[9] In week 12, Washington rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns, adding a receiving touchdown, in a win over [West Virginia](/source/2024_West_Virginia_Mountaineers_football_team).[10]

On January 4, 2026, Washington announced that he would enter the transfer portal.[11]
