# Bronco, Georgia

**Bronco** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area#United_States) in [Walker County](/source/Walker_County,_Georgia), in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Georgia](/source/Georgia_(U.S._state)).[1]

## History

A post office called Bronco was established in 1884, and remained in operation until 1905.[2] The community was named after the [bronco](/source/Bronco) horse.[3] A variant name was "Sylvan Bower".[1] Bronco once supported a schoolhouse, the Bronco School, now defunct.[4]
