January by rural and urban areas, area and population density] The Mobile Statbank from [Statistics Denmark](/source/Statistics_Denmark)</ref> in [Sønderborg Municipality](/source/S%C3%B8nderborg_Municipality) in [Region of Southern Denmark](/source/Region_of_Southern_Denmark), [Denmark](/source/Denmark). It lies on the [Broager Peninsula](/source/Broager_Peninsula) and is therefore surrounded by water on three sides, the waters of [Flensborg Fjord](/source/Flensburg_Fjord) leading into the [Baltic Sea](/source/Baltic_Sea). The town of Broager lies in the middle of the peninsula by a major road, which leads to the [Egernsund Bridge](/source/Egernsund_Bridge), which crosses over the Egern Strait to the Jutland mainland. The town's two-towered church is its most important landmark.

The town was part of [Broager Municipality](/source/Broager_Municipality) until 2007 when it became part of the larger [Sønderborg Municipality](/source/S%C3%B8nderborg_Municipality).
