**Broadview TV GmbH** is a German documentary film production company based in Cologne.

BROADVIEW produces documentaries for broadcast and cable networks in Germany and worldwide, including [ZDF](/source/ZDF), [ARD](/source/ARD_(broadcaster)), [arte](/source/Arte), [HBO](/source/HBO), [A&E](/source/A%26E_(TV_channel)), [NHK](/source/NHK), [RTL](/source/RTL_Television), as well as for national and international Institutions including the [German Foreign Office](/source/Foreign_Office_(Germany)) and the [Commission of the European Union](/source/Commission_of_the_European_Union). The films have gone on to win the [International Emmy® Award](/source/Emmy_Award), the [German Television Award](/source/German_Television_Award), the Magnolia Award and Banff Television Award.[1]

## History

Since its founding in 1999 by [Leopold Hoesch](/source/Leopold_Hoesch_(film_producer)), BROADVIEW TV is one of Germany's leading production companies[2] in the fields of history, politics, culture, science and sports for TV stations, cinema distributors and media platforms in Germany and abroad. BROADVIEW TV has produced numerous documentaries for TV and cinema including the [ARD](/source/ARD_(broadcaster))-series 'German Dynasties', the [arte](/source/Arte)-series 'TOO young TO DIE' and the [ZDF](/source/ZDF)-series 'Theatre Portraits' with [Esther Schweins](/source/Esther_Schweins). Under the label Broadview Pictures, the company produced cinema documentaries that include [Klitschko](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klitschko_(Film)), [Nowitzki. The Perfect Shot](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nowitzki._Der_perfekte_Wurf), Who owns nature?, [KROOS](/source/Kroos_(film)) and [Resistance Fighters](/source/Resistance_Fighters).
