**Brittany Boyd-Jones** ([née](/source/Birth_name#Maiden_and_married_names) **Boyd**; born June 11, 1993) is an American former professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) player in the [Women's National Basketball Association](/source/Women's_National_Basketball_Association) (WNBA). She previously played for the [Chicago Sky](/source/Chicago_Sky). She played [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) for the [California Golden Bears](/source/California_Golden_Bears_women's_basketball). She was selected by New York in the first round of the [2015 WNBA draft](/source/2015_WNBA_draft) with the ninth overall pick.[1]

Boyd grew up in [Richmond, California](/source/Richmond%2C_California),[2][3] and attended high school in [Berkeley](/source/Berkeley%2C_California) at [Berkeley High](/source/Berkeley_High_School_(California)).[4] As a senior in college, she helped Cal advance to the second round of the [2015 NCAA Tournament](/source/2015_NCAA_Women's_Division_I_Basketball_Tournament).[5] Boyd averaged 13.4 [points](/source/Point_(basketball)), 7.7 [rebounds](/source/Rebound_(basketball)), 6.8 [assists](/source/Assist_(basketball)) and 2.9 [steals](/source/Steal_(basketball)) per game for the season, and was a semifinalist for the [Naismith College Player of the Year](/source/Naismith_College_Player_of_the_Year).[1][4] She was the first player in the history of the [Pac-12 Conference](/source/Pac-12_Conference) to reach career totals of 1,400 points, 700 rebounds, 600 assists and 300 steals.[4]

Boyd played five seasons with New York. In [2019](/source/2019_New_York_Liberty_season), she tied a career high with 33 games played while [starting](/source/Starting_lineup) in a career-high 17 contests. The Liberty [waived](/source/Waivers_(sports)) her after the season.[6]

She was picked up by the Sky in 2021, but waved by the team in May 2021.[7]

## Coaching career

Boyd was assistant coach for the Cal State East Bay women's basketball team from 2022-2024. In September 2024, it was announced that Boyd would become an assistant coach for the St. Mary's Gaels women's basketball team.[8]
