# Brian Thure

**Brian Douglas Thure** (born September 3, 1973) is an American former professional [football](/source/American_football) player who was an [offensive tackle](/source/Offensive_tackle) for the [Washington Redskins](/source/Washington_Redskins) of the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL). He played [college football](/source/College_football) for the [California Golden Bears](/source/California_Golden_Bears_football) and was the 176th overall pick in the sixth round of the [1995 NFL draft](/source/1995_NFL_draft).[1][2]

On October 29, 1996, Thure, [Cory Raymer](/source/Cory_Raymer), and 1 other were injured in a car crash in [Colonial Beach, Virginia](/source/Colonial_Beach,_Virginia). Raymer was driving when an oncoming vehicle caused him to swerve and overturn his car. Raymer and Thure were taken to [Mary Washington Hospital](/source/Mary_Washington_Hospital) by ambulance.[3]
