'''Brian Sebastian Pullan''', [FBA](/source/Fellow_of_the_British_Academy) (1935 – 16 December 2022) was a British historian and academic. He was Full Professor of Modern History at the [University of Manchester](/source/Victoria_University_of_Manchester) from 1973 to 1998.

After completing a [BA](/source/Bachelor_of_Arts) and [PhD](/source/Doctor_of_Philosophy) at [Trinity College, Cambridge](/source/Trinity_College%2C_Cambridge), Pullan was appointed to a [research fellow](/source/research_fellow)ship there from 1961 to 1963. He was then elected to a [fellow](/source/fellow)ship of [Queens' College, Cambridge](/source/Queens'_College%2C_Cambridge), in 1963 and also worked as an assistant [lecturer](/source/lecturer) (1964–67) and full lecturer (1967–72) at the [University of Cambridge](/source/University_of_Cambridge).
