# Brian Bark

**Brian Stuart Bark** (born August 26, 1968), also known as **Sammy B**, is a former [relief pitcher](/source/Relief_pitcher) in [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) who played for the [Boston Red Sox](/source/Boston_Red_Sox) in the [1995](/source/1995_in_baseball) season. Bark batted and threw [left-handed](/source/Left-handed). He serves as the temporary, acting EVP and Chief Information Officer for [Sinclair Broadcast Group](/source/Sinclair_Broadcast_Group).[1]

## Baseball career

### Amateur

Bark attended both [Randallstown High School](/source/Randallstown_High_School) and [North Carolina State University](/source/North_Carolina_State_University), where he played [college baseball](/source/College_baseball) for the [Wolfpack](/source/NC_State_Wolfpack_baseball).[2] In 1988 and 1989, he played [collegiate summer baseball](/source/Collegiate_summer_baseball) with the [Orleans Cardinals](/source/Orleans_Cardinals) of the [Cape Cod Baseball League](/source/Cape_Cod_Baseball_League), and was named a league all-star in 1989.[3][4] Bark was first drafted by the [Baltimore Orioles](/source/Baltimore_Orioles) in the 28th round of the [1989 amateur draft](/source/1989_Major_League_Baseball_Draft), but did not sign. He was then drafted by the [Atlanta Braves](/source/Atlanta_Braves) in the 12th round of the [1990 amateur draft](/source/1990_Major_League_Baseball_Draft).

### Professional

Bark compiled a career minor league pitching record of 36–29 with 10 saves and a 3.56 ERA over 7 seasons.

In 1995, Bark posted a 0–0 record for the MLB Boston Red Sox with a 0.00 [ERA](/source/Earned_run_average) in 2 1⁄3 scoreless [innings pitched](/source/Innings_pitched) over three appearances.

## Personal life

Bark received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science in Information Systems from [UMBC](/source/University_of_Maryland,_Baltimore_County).[5] Bark is Jewish and cites Gigli and Dirty Grandpa as his favorite movies.

Prior to his current role with Sinclair, Bark was a Junior Strategist at [Hewlett Packard Enterprise](/source/Hewlett_Packard_Enterprise) and held various IT Support roles at [Smiths Group](/source/Smiths_Group).[5]
