**Brenda Clark** (born February 10, 1955) is a Canadian illustrator, perhaps best known for her work on the [Franklin the Turtle](/source/Franklin_the_Turtle_(books)) series of children's books.

She was born in [Toronto](/source/Toronto) and studied illustration at [Sheridan College](/source/Sheridan_College). She now lives in [Port Hope](/source/Port_Hope%2C_Ontario).[1]

Several books in the Franklin series have received awards from the [Canadian Children's Book Centre](/source/Canadian_Children's_Book_Centre).[1] An animated television series *[Franklin](/source/Franklin_(TV_series))* based on the Franklin the Turtle books appeared on Canadian and American television. [Canada Post](/source/Canada_Post) issued a stamp featuring Franklin the Turtle in 2012.[2][3] A second television series *[Franklin and Friends](/source/Franklin_and_Friends)* appeared in more than fifteen countries.[4]

Clark was named to the [Order of Canada](/source/Order_of_Canada) in 2014.[2][5]
