**Abrahim Mohamed "Brem" Soumaoro** (born 8 August 1996) is a professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for [USL Championship](/source/USL_Championship) club [Sporting JAX](/source/Sporting_Club_Jacksonville). Born in [Guinea](/source/Guinea), he represents the [Liberia national team](/source/Liberia_national_football_team).

## Club career

### Jong FC Twente

Soumaoro made his [Eerste Divisie](/source/Eerste_Divisie) debut for [Jong FC Twente](/source/Jong_FC_Twente) on 29 August 2014 in a game against [RKC Waalwijk](/source/RKC_Waalwijk).[1]

### SpVgg Greuther Fürth

In July 2018, after being released by [Go Ahead Eagles](/source/Go_Ahead_Eagles), he trialled with [2. Bundesliga](/source/2._Bundesliga) side [SpVgg Greuther Fürth](/source/SpVgg_Greuther_F%C3%BCrth).[2]

### A.S. Livorno Calcio

On 10 August 2018, Soumaoro joined Italian [Serie B](/source/Serie_B) club [Livorno](/source/A.S._Livorno_Calcio).[3] He left the club in 2019, before signing with [Jong FC Twente](/source/Jong_FC_Twente) again in early 2020. In August 2020, he moved to [FC Den Bosch](/source/FC_Den_Bosch).[4] He left the club on 1 January 2021, to join [MVV Maastricht](/source/MVV_Maastricht) on a deal for the rest of the season.[5]

### York United FC

On 1 February 2023, Soumaoro joined [Canadian Premier League](/source/Canadian_Premier_League) side [York United](/source/York_United_FC), signing a one-year deal, including club options for a further extension.[6] In August 2024, he agreed to a mutual termination of the remainder of his contract.[7]

### Indy Eleven

On 3 September 2024, [USL Championship](/source/USL_Championship) club [Indy Eleven](/source/Indy_Eleven) announced the signing of Soumaoro.[8][9] He made his debut for the [Indianapolis](/source/Indianapolis)-based club on 7 September 2024 in a 0–0 draw against [Hartford Athletic](/source/Hartford_Athletic). Soumaoro ended the season with 9 total appearances for the club, including the club's playoff loss to [Rhode Island FC](/source/Rhode_Island_FC).[10] On 21 November 2024, Indy Eleven announced that Soumaoro would remain with the club for the [2025 season](/source/2025_Indy_Eleven_season).[11]

### Sporting Club Jacksonville

USL Championship expansion club, [Sporting Club Jacksonville](/source/Sporting_Club_Jacksonville), also known as Sporting JAX, announced on 23 December 2025, that Soumaoro had signed with their men's team.[12]

## International career

Born in Guinea, Soumaoro is also eligible to represent [Liberia](/source/Liberia) through his parents. In August 2021, he accepted a call up from the [Liberian national team](/source/Liberia_national_football_team) for a series of [World Cup qualifiers](/source/2022_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification) against [Nigeria](/source/Nigeria_national_football_team) and [Central African Republic](/source/Central_African_Republic_national_football_team).[13] He made his debut on 3 September 2021 in a 2–0 away loss to Nigeria, starting and playing the entire match.[14]
