The '''Brandon Railroad''' {{Reporting mark|BRAN}} is a switching and terminal railroad that operates 17.3 miles of former [South Omaha Terminal Railway](/source/South_Omaha_Terminal_Railway) track outside of [Omaha, Nebraska](/source/Omaha%2C_Nebraska), United States.  This railroad started out as the [Union Stock Yards Company of Omaha](/source/Union_Stock_Yards_Company_of_Omaha) in 1897.  In July 1927 it became the [South Omaha Terminal Railway](/source/South_Omaha_Terminal_Railway) and then was taken over by the BRAN in 1978.  The BRAN has connections to the [BNSF Railway](/source/BNSF_Railway) and the [Union Pacific Railroad](/source/Union_Pacific_Railroad).<ref>{{cite web|title=Brandon Corporation BRAN #81|url=http://www.uprr.com/customers/shortline/lines/bran.shtml|accessdate=4 November 2011}}</ref>
