# Brad Tandy

**Bradley Edward Tandy** (born 2 May 1991)[3] is a retired South African [Olympic swimmer](/source/Swimming_at_the_Summer_Olympics). He represented his country at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics), where he competed in the [50 m freestyle](/source/Swimming_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_50_metre_freestyle) event, finishing 6th overall with a time of 21.79 seconds.[4] In 2018, Tandy won a bronze medal in the 4x100 medley relay at the [Commonwealth Games](/source/Commonwealth_Games), alongside teammates [Chad Le Clos](/source/Chad_Le_Clos), [Cameron van der Burgh](/source/Cameron_van_der_Burgh) and [Calvyn Justus](/source/Calvyn_Justus).[5] At the same event, he secured a silver medal for the 50 m freestyle with a time of 21.81 seconds.

Tandy competed in the [men's 50 metre freestyle](/source/Swimming_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_50_metre_freestyle) event at the [2020 Summer Olympics](/source/2020_Summer_Olympics). The following year, he won the silver medal in the 50 metre freestyle with a time of 22.49 seconds at the [2022 South Africa National Swimming Championships](/source/2022_SA_National_Swimming_Championships) before announcing his retirement.[6]
