# Box of Light

***Box of Light*** (光の箱, *Hikari no Hako*) is a Japanese [manga](/source/Manga) series written and illustrated by Seiko Erisawa. It began serialization in [Shogakukan](/source/Shogakukan)'s [*josei* manga](/source/Josei_manga) magazine *Zōkan Flowers* in November 2018.

## Synopsis

The series is set in a mysterious [convenience store](/source/Convenience_store) that is connected to the supernatural, and is centered around the customers who visit this store trying to make their "final purchase".

## Publication

Written and illustrated by Seiko Erisawa, *Box of Light* began serialization in [Shogakukan](/source/Shogakukan)'s [*josei* manga](/source/Josei_manga) magazine *Zōkan Flowers* on November 14, 2018.[3] The series' chapters have been compiled into four *[tankōbon](/source/Tank%C5%8Dbon)* volumes as of March 2025.[4]

In October 2021, [Seven Seas Entertainment](/source/Seven_Seas_Entertainment) announced that they had licensed the series for English publication.[5]

## Reception

The series ranked eighteenth in Freestyle magazine's "The Best 2021 Kono Manga wo Yome!" ranking in 2020.[6] The series, alongside *Hajimete no Hito* was ranked nineteenth in the 2021 edition of [Takarajimasha](/source/Takarajimasha)'s *[Kono Manga ga Sugoi!](/source/Kono_Manga_ga_Sugoi!)* guidebook's ranking of the best manga for female readers.[7]
