The road forms part of the [A11](/source/A11_road_(England)), running from [Aldgate](/source/Aldgate) to [Norwich](/source/Norwich) in [Norfolk](/source/Norfolk). To the west the road becomes '''Mile End Road''', and to the east is [Bow Interchange](/source/Bow_Interchange) on the [A12](/source/A12_road_(England)).

The [College of Technology London](/source/College_of_Technology_London) was located on the road, as is [Bow Church](/source/Bow_Church), and the [Lea Valley Walk](/source/Lea_Valley_Walk) passes it near to [Three Mills](/source/Three_Mills). The Electric House carries a memorial clock to [Minnie Lansbury](/source/Minnie_Lansbury), whose [father-in-law](/source/father-in-law), [George Lansbury](/source/George_Lansbury), also lived on Bow Road.
