**John Carlos Matanguihan Hermida Jr.**, better known as **Borgie Hermida**, is a Filipino professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) coach and former player. He is the senior team manager for the [Bataan Risers](/source/Bataan_Risers) of the [Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League](/source/Maharlika_Pilipinas_Basketball_League) (MPBL) and assistant coach of [NLEX Road Warriors](/source/NLEX_Road_Warriors) of the [Philippine Basketball Association](/source/Philippine_Basketball_Association) (PBA).

He was drafted 17th overall in the [2010 PBA draft](/source/2010_PBA_draft) by the [Barako Bull Energy Boosters](/source/Barako_Bull_Energy_Boosters_(2000%E2%80%9311)). During his five seasons in college with the [San Beda Red Lions](/source/San_Beda_Red_Lions), he won 4 titles from [2006](/source/NCAA_Season_82) to [2008](/source/NCAA_Season_84) and [2010](/source/NCAA_Season_86). He has won 4 titles with the [San Beda Red Lions](/source/San_Beda_Red_Lions) 2006-2008 and 2010, and as a Mythical Five Member of [NCAA Season 86](/source/NCAA_Season_86) Before graduating from San Beda after 16 years of service to the school.

## Professional career

Hermida was drafted seventeenth overall by [Barako Bull Energy Boosters](/source/Barako_Bull_Energy_Boosters_(2000%E2%80%9311)) in the [2010 PBA draft](/source/2010_PBA_draft). However, Hermida was released by the team, now known as [Shopinas.com Clickers](/source/Air21_Express_(2012%E2%80%932014)) at the end of the [2011–12 PBA Philippine Cup](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_PBA_Philippine_Cup).

In 2012, after being released by Shopinas.com, the [NLEX Road Warriors](/source/NLEX_Road_Warriors_(PBA_D-League)) of the [PBA Developmental League](/source/PBA_Developmental_League) signed him. After NLEX's application to go to the [PBA](/source/Philippine_Basketball_Association) was approved, he was one of the players of the original NLEX team who went to play in the PBA.

In 2016, Hermida was signed by SCTEX Road Warriors as one its players for the [Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League](/source/Pilipinas_Commercial_Basketball_League).[1]
