# Bongfish

**Bongfish GmbH** is a video game developer and publisher in [Graz](/source/Graz), [Austria](/source/Austria). Originally founded as a start-up[1] in the science incubator of [Graz University of Technology](/source/Graz_University_of_Technology),[2] the company was established in its current form in 2007.[3][4][5][6][7]

## History

Bongfish published its first video game, *[Stoked](/source/Stoked_(video_game))* for [Xbox 360](/source/Xbox_360), in 2009. A year later, 2010, *[Harms Way](/source/Harms_Way_(video_game))* was the first title by Bongfish developed for [Microsoft Studios](/source/Microsoft_Studios). This was followed up in 2012 with the title *Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect* on the [Xbox 360](/source/Xbox_360) console for Red Bull Media House[8] and [Microsoft Studios](/source/Microsoft_Studios). With *[Motocross Madness](/source/Motocross_Madness_(2013_video_game)),* a third title was published for the Xbox 360 in 2013.

In 2015, Bongfish started a co-development partnership with [Wargaming](/source/Wargaming_(company)) to create game-play features and content for their [MMO](/source/Massively_multiplayer_online_role-playing_game) *[World of Tanks](/source/World_of_Tanks)* and their *Frontline* game mode.[9] Together with Flashman Games LLC,[10] Bongfish acquired the rights to produce *Smurfs' Village* a social [mobile game](/source/Mobile_game) based on the [Smurfs](/source/The_Smurfs) franchise in 2016.

In 2019, Bongfish founded Blackshark.ai, a sub-division of the company focusing on geospatial analytics and spatial computing.[11] In 2020, Blackshark.ai was mentioned as the company that generated the world's surface for the [Microsoft Flight Simulator](/source/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_(2020_video_game)) utilizing Bing images.[12][13][14]
