**Bongani Jele** (born 1 April 1986) is a South African cricket [umpire](/source/Umpire_(cricket)).[1][2] He is part of [Cricket South Africa](/source/Cricket_South_Africa)'s umpire panel for [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) matches.[3] Along with [Adrian Holdstock](/source/Adrian_Holdstock), he umpired in the final of the [2015–16 Ram Slam T20 Challenge](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Ram_Slam_T20_Challenge) in December 2015[4] and officiated in the [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) tour match between [South Africa A and England XI](/source/English_cricket_team_in_South_Africa_in_2015%E2%80%9316) later the same month.[5]

He made his [One Day International](/source/One_Day_International) (ODI) umpiring debut in a match between [Australia and Ireland](/source/Irish_cricket_team_in_South_Africa_in_2016%E2%80%9317) in [Benoni](/source/Willowmoore_Park), South Africa, on 27 September 2016.[6] His first [Twenty20 International](/source/Twenty20_International) (T20I) match as an umpire was on 22 January 2017 when [South Africa played Sri Lanka](/source/Sri_Lankan_cricket_team_in_South_Africa_in_2016%E2%80%9317) in [Johannesburg](/source/New_Wanderers_Stadium).[7] He was one of the sixteen umpires for the [2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2020_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup) tournament in South Africa.[8]
