The '''bond equivalent yield''' ('''BEY''') for an [investment](/source/investment) is a calculated [annual percentage yield](/source/annual_percentage_yield) for an investment, which may not pay out yearly. It is not to be confused with a [bond](/source/Bond_(finance))'s [coupon rate](/source/coupon_rate). This allows investments with different payout frequencies to be compared.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bey.asp|title=Bond Equivalent Yield - BEY|author=Investopedia Staff|date=2003-11-25|work=Investopedia|access-date=2017-11-30|language=en-US}}</ref>
