**Bogra-7** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). Since 13th February, 2026, this constituency is represented by [Morshed Milton](/source/Morshed_Milton), a candidate of the [Bangladesh Nationalist Party](/source/Bangladesh_Nationalist_Party).

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Gabtali](/source/Gabtali_Upazila) and [Shajahanpur](/source/Shajahanpur_Upazila), integrating both upazilas under a single administrative and electoral boundary.[1][2]

## History

The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973.

Ahead of the [2008 general election](/source/2008_Bangladeshi_general_election), the [Election Commission](/source/Bangladesh_Election_Commission) redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the [2001 Bangladesh census](/source/2001_Bangladesh_census).[3] The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.[4]

Khaleda Zia stood for three seats in the 2008 general election: [Bogra-6](/source/Bogra-6), Bogra-7, and [Feni-1](/source/Feni-1). After winning all three, she chose to represent Feni-1 and quit the other two, triggering by-elections in them.[13] [Moudud Ahmed](/source/Moudud_Ahmed) of the BNP was elected in an April 2009 by-election.[14]

Khaleda Zia stood for five seats in the 2001 general election: [Bogra-6](/source/Bogra-6), Bogra-7, [Khulna-2](/source/Khulna-2), [Feni-1](/source/Feni-1), and [Lakshmipur-2](/source/Lakshmipur-2). After winning all five, she chose to represent Bogra-6 and quit the other four, triggering by-elections in them.[17][18] [Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu](/source/Helaluzzaman_Talukder_Lalu) of the BNP was elected in a November 2001 by-election.[19]
