**Bocharov Ruchey** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Бочаров Ручей, "Cooper's Brook") was the summer residence of the [President of Russia](/source/President_of_Russia). It was located in the [Tsentralny city district](/source/Tsentralny_city_district%2C_Sochi) of [Sochi](/source/Sochi), Russia.[1]

The Bocharov Ruchey residence was commissioned by the [People's Commissar for Military and Naval Affairs](/source/People's_Commissar_for_Military_and_Naval_Affairs), [Kliment Voroshilov](/source/Kliment_Voroshilov), and completed in 1955.[2] [Miron Merzhanov](/source/Miron_Merzhanov) was the project architect, while [Sergei Venchagov](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sergei_Venchagov&action=edit&redlink=1) was the landscape designer.[2]

The venue was used by President [Vladimir Putin](/source/Vladimir_Putin) to host US President [George W. Bush](/source/George_W._Bush) in 2008. Putin is also reported to have used the residence to celebrate the birthday of his rumoured partner [Alina Kabayeva](/source/Alina_Kabayeva), and was reported to have stayed inside during the peak of the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic). In 2024, the Russian independent investigative outlet *[Proekt](/source/Proekt)* reported that the residence's main building had been demolished and replaced by a construction project in the beginning of the year, and that Putin had stopped visiting the venue since March 2024 due to concerns over a possible drone attack by Ukraine.[3]
