'''Bobrowniki''' ({{IPAc-pl|b|o|b|r|o|w|'|n|i|k|i}}) is a town in [Lipno County](/source/Lipno_County), [Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship](/source/Kuyavian-Pomeranian_Voivodeship), in central Poland.{{TERYT}} It is the seat of the [gmina](/source/gmina) (administrative district) called [Gmina Bobrowniki](/source/Gmina_Bobrowniki%2C_Kuyavian-Pomeranian_Voivodeship). In the Middle Ages the town was one of the centres of the [Dobrzyń Land](/source/Dobrzy%C5%84_Land).

Near Bobrowniki, there is a remarkable [power line crossing](/source/Power_line_crossings_in_Poland) of the [Vistula](/source/Vistula) river.

==History==
The town contains ruins of the [castle](/source/Bobrowniki_Castle), built at the end of 14th century by [Teutonic Knights](/source/Teutonic_Knights) at the place of a former Polish [gród](/source/gr%C3%B3d). Bobrowniki was a [royal town](/source/royal_city_in_Poland), administratively located in the Lipno County in the [Inowrocław Voivodeship](/source/Inowroc%C5%82aw_Voivodeship) in the [Greater Poland Province](/source/Greater_Poland_Province_of_the_Polish_Crown) of the Kingdom of Poland.<ref>{{cite book|author=<!--Staff writer(s); no by-line.--> |title=Atlas historyczny Polski. During the [German occupation of Poland](/source/Occupation_of_Poland_(1939%E2%80%931945)) ([World War II](/source/World_War_II)), several local farmers and activists were among the victimes of a massacre of [Poles](/source/Polish_people), perpetrated by the Germans in nearby [Radomice](/source/Radomice%2C_Kuyavian-Pomeranian_Voivodeship) on October 8, 1939 as part of the genocidal ''[Intelligenzaktion](/source/Intelligenzaktion)'' campaign.<ref>{{cite book|last=Wardzyńska|first=Maria|year=2009|title=Był rok 1939.
