Widely regarded as one of the greatest [TNA](/source/Total_Nonstop_Action_Wrestling) wrestlers of all time, Roode is best known for his twelve-year tenure with the company. After debuting for TNA as part of [Team Canada](/source/Team_Canada_(TNA)) in 2004, he won the [NWA World Tag Team Championship](/source/NWA_World_Tag_Team_Championship) with [Eric Young](/source/Eric_Young_(wrestler)). Roode formed a partnership with [Christian Cage](/source/Jason_Reso) against TNA newcomer [Booker T](/source/Booker_Huffman), claiming that "has beens" like Booker T show up and gain main event status at the expense of long time Talent like himself. at [Turning Point (2007)](/source/Turning_Point_(2007_wrestling)), Roode and Cage lost to Booker T and [Kaz](/source/Kazarian_(wrestler)). Roode and Cage then aligned themselves with [Kurt Angle](/source/Kurt_Angle), after an invitation to join the [Angle Alliance](/source/Angle_Alliance) on ''Impact!''. This only lasted for one night, however, as the [Angle Alliance](/source/Angle_Alliance) lost to the team of [Samoa Joe](/source/Samoa_Joe), [Kevin Nash](/source/Kevin_Nash), Kaz, Booker T and Eric Young, when Nash pinned Roode. Cage and Roode then had a face to face altercation in the ring which lead to Angle and Roode attacking Cage, thus kicking Cage out of the Angle Alliance and turning the Angle-Cage tension into a full-blown feud.
