# Bob Anderegg

**Robert H. Anderegg** (August 24, 1937 – December 31, 2024) was an American [small forward](/source/Small_forward) and [shooting guard](/source/Shooting_guard) in the [National Basketball Association](/source/National_Basketball_Association) (NBA) and the [American Basketball League](/source/American_Basketball_League_(1961%E2%80%9363)) (ABL). He played professionally for the [New York Knicks](/source/New_York_Knicks) and the [Hawaii Chiefs](/source/Long_Beach_Chiefs).

## Life and career

Anderegg was born in [Monroe, Wisconsin](/source/Monroe,_Wisconsin), and attended [Monroe High School](/source/Monroe_High_School_(Wisconsin)).[1] He played [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) for [Michigan State University](/source/Michigan_State_Spartans_men's_basketball). The 6-foot 3-inch (1.91-metre) 200 pounds (91 kg) guard-forward was selected by the New York Knicks in the 3rd round (22nd pick overall) of the [1959 NBA draft](/source/1959_NBA_draft).[2]

Anderegg played for the New York Knicks for thirty-three games in the [1959–60 NBA season](/source/1959%E2%80%9360_NBA_season).[3] He played six games for the Hawaii Chiefs in the [1961–1962 ABL season](/source/American_Basketball_League_(1961%E2%80%9363)) before retiring in 1962.[4][5]

Anderegg died on December 31, 2024, at the age of 87.[6]

## Awards

In 2008 Anderegg was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Hall of Fame.[7]
