# Blue Moon Set

***Blue Moon Set*** is the fourth solo album by [Irish](/source/Irish_people) [ambient](/source/Ambient_music) musician [Seamus Ó Muíneacháin](/source/Seamus_%C3%93_Mu%C3%ADneach%C3%A1in).[1] The album was broadcast on several major [radio stations](/source/Radio_stations), including [BBC Radio 6](/source/BBC_Radio_6),[2] [RTÉ](/source/RT%C3%89),[3] [KEXP](/source/KEXP),[4] and [WFMU](/source/WFMU),[5] and received a positive critical reception.

## Background and release

The album was recorded in O'Muineachain's hometown of [Belmullet](/source/Belmullet), County Mayo, Ireland, from January to March 2020,[6] and was subsequently released during the first wave of the [COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Ireland](/source/COVID-19_pandemic_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland). The album had its premier on [KDHX](/source/KDHX_(FM)) on 17 March 2020,[7] and was released three days later, both digitally and as a limited edition blue [cassette tape](/source/Cassette_tape), on March 20.[8] Several music videos were created for the album, including a video for 'Slow Closing Day' by Irish experimental film-maker [Maximilian Le Cain](/source/Maximilian_Le_Cain).[9]
