**Birdbrook** is a village and [civil parish](/source/Civil_parish) in [Essex](/source/Essex), England. It is located approximately 6 km (3.7 mi) southeast of [Haverhill, Suffolk](/source/Haverhill%2C_Suffolk) and is 34 km (21 miles) north from the county town of [Chelmsford](/source/Chelmsford). The village is in the district of [Braintree](/source/Braintree_(district)) and in the parliamentary constituency of [Saffron Walden](/source/Saffron_Walden_(UK_Parliament_constituency)). It is 93 metres above sea level. At the [2021 census](/source/2021%E2%80%932022_United_Kingdom_censuses) the parish had a population of 379.

There is a public house called the Plough, and the parish church is dedicated to St Augustine of Canterbury.

Nearby [Moyns Park](/source/Moyns_Park), a Grade I listed [Elizabethan](/source/Elizabethan) [country house](/source/English_country_houses), is said to have been where [Ian Fleming](/source/Ian_Fleming) put the finishing touches on his novel *[From Russia, with Love](/source/From_Russia%2C_with_Love_(novel))*.
