**William Jason Schuler** (born April 27, 1990) is an American former professional [soccer](/source/Association_football) player.

## Career

### Youth and college

A resident of [Allentown, New Jersey](/source/Allentown%2C_New_Jersey), Schuler attended [Peddie School](/source/Peddie_School).[2]

Schuler played three seasons over four years (redshirting his junior year after an injury) at the [University of North Carolina](/source/University_of_North_Carolina).[1]

### Professional

Schuler signed with [Hammarby IF](/source/Hammarby_Fotboll) of Sweden's [Superettan](/source/Superettan) after the 2011 NCAA season. He spent two years in Sweden, scoring two goals for Hammarby in 26 appearances. He signed with [Major League Soccer](/source/Major_League_Soccer) in January 2014 and was assigned to the [San Jose Earthquakes](/source/San_Jose_Earthquakes) by a weighted lottery.[3]

Schuler made his Earthquakes' debut on March 19, 2014, in a 1–1 draw against [Toluca](/source/Deportivo_Toluca_F.C.) in the [2013–14 CONCACAF Champions League](/source/2013%E2%80%9314_CONCACAF_Champions_League) quarterfinals.[4] Schuler was released by San Jose on December 11, 2014.[5]

On March 27, 2015, Schuler signed with [Whitecaps FC 2](/source/Whitecaps_FC_2) of the [United Soccer League](/source/United_Soccer_League).[6]

After one season in Vancouver, Schuler moved to [North American Soccer League](/source/North_American_Soccer_League_(2011%E2%80%932017)) club [Carolina RailHawks](/source/Carolina_RailHawks) on January 6, 2016.[7]
