# Billy Naylor

**Billy Naylor** (September 22, 1916[1] – October 5, 2011) was an American [child actor](/source/Child_actor) who appeared in several *[Our Gang](/source/Our_Gang)* films during the [silent era](/source/Silent_era). Beginning his screen career in 1925, some of his movies included *[Uncle Tom's Uncle](/source/Uncle_Tom's_Uncle)*, *[The Fourth Alarm](/source/The_Fourth_Alarm_(film))*, and *[Telling Whoppers](/source/Telling_Whoppers)*. At the age of 18, he joined the [Screen Actors Guild](/source/Screen_Actors_Guild), making him the youngest member to enter the [labor union](/source/Labor_unions_in_the_United_States). He left [Hollywood](/source/Cinema_of_the_United_States) in 1935. Naylor was the oldest living member of the *Our Gang* series at the time of his death on October 5, 2011.[2] He was a devout [atheist](/source/Atheism) who supported the Freethought Hall fund.[3]
