== Early life and education ==
Billy Chan was born in [Hong Kong](/source/Hong_Kong) on December 25, 1960. His father, Michael Chan, was from [Macau](/source/Macau). Chan is the founder and chairman of the Sino-Phil Asia International Peace Awards Foundation, Inc.
