**William Gerald Merry** (born 8 August 1955) is a former English [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Merry was a right-handed [batsman](/source/Batting_(cricket)) who bowled right-arm [medium pace](/source/Seam_bowling). He was born at [Newbury](/source/Newbury,_Berkshire), [Berkshire](/source/Berkshire) and educated at Chells Secondary Modern in [Staffordshire](/source/Staffordshire).[1]
